Apple’s September 9, 2026 event introduced the foldable iPhone Duo, iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max, AirPods 5, Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. The immediate business issue is not the hardware itself. It is the new screen behaviour and the stronger role of on-device intelligence.
The iPhone Duo is Apple’s first foldable iPhone. TechRadar reports a 5.4-inch outer display and a 7.6-inch inner display, with a titanium frame and Apple’s A20 Pro chip. It uses Touch ID rather than Face ID. Apple has also optimised its apps for the two-screen format, including moving apps between sides, split-screen use, duplicated views and paired apps.
